I can't use snail baits as I have dogs but have a semi effective solution in "baiting" them with an offcut of broccoli. I put it out the night before about a foot away from my hop plants and when I get up in the morning usually find a couple of slugs and or snails on it. Then chuck it in the wheelie bin with slugs and snails attached. Or apply salt if I woke up on the wrong side of bed!
The Cascade is sleeping in. At least it will be refreshed and full of energy when it eventually gets up and going.
