I chose to not have a beer until after the game, not sure that was wise!

I was getting close to it, not quite though. Haven't seen the whole team play like that for a long time. Let's hope Big Bazza gets off his charge, I have had enough of the big guys being penalised for their size or stature. If you can't stand the heat, get off the oval.
IMHO

Gotta say, despite their losing, I was really impressed with the Swans on Sunday. I had expected the Hawks to break out in front early in the first and that Sydney wouldn't have a chance all day, but what a game it turned out to be! I've now got no fingernails left...

Gary Rohan, that young fanta-pants, is bloody awesome and whilst Jetta doesn't seem to have the most accurate kick going, he can certainly run! How awesome is Daniel Hannebery, too?

If they keep this up for next round against Essendon then my missus is going to need to get herself some ear-plugs... I'm notorious for screaming at the TV...

I second the ear-plug motion. Just coz they can't hear me on t.v. doesn't seem to keep me quiet. Tend to end up in the dog house after some games.

Well I'm still not entirely convinced that they can't hear me through the TV, so I'll continue to shout at it until I get definitive proof that they can't. If the missus doesn't like it, she's welcome to take herself for a drive around the block a couple of hundred times until the final siren is sounded.

It must be a bloke thing! I'm always getting bollocked for yelling at an inanimate object in the corner of the room when the umpy makes a crap call...Mind you, I've never thrown anything at the TV.....yet!

I wouldnt be underestimating the crows after kncoking off the 2nd placed team (they were 2nd before we beat them) last week.

Bock v Buddy will be a big battle that will go a long way to deciding the outcome.

I've tipped the hawks by less than a kick (tip with the brain, not the heart)

I'd be pretty embarrassed if I lived in Adelaide, right now. Port Power weren't even playing on Saturday night, made a change from the past few Swans games where I had no fingernails by the final siren.

Embarrassed? Why?

Maybe the power supporters would be given they really should have beaten Sydney but the crows are suffering from the worst injury list in the competition. Yes its an excuse but IMO a valid one. I am disappointed we are losing and in the running for our first wooden spoon but embarrassed, no. I'll continue to support them without resorting to hurling abuse at the players or the coaching staff.

Yeah, my comments were more aimed at Port's performance on the weekend. I know that the Crows are down a bunch of players, but I've got a good mate who's a Crows fan (still wears his "double-premiership" shirt just about everywhere he goes) so I'll certainly never say that out loud -- much too much fun to watch him go red in the face whenever the topic of their poor season comes up :P

So my missus managed to win herself two tickets to the Swans V Collingwood at ANZ Stadium next week, and, she disliking football and hating my shouting even more, isn't going to go along. Now I've got the tough task of picking who I should take along with me to help shout and consume beer (despite the only selection being awful megaswill...)

Sometimes life's just awesome! :P

CARN THE MIGHTY HAWKS!!

Bring on the Cats, Lions, then Saints and whoever should follow.

Great wins over Bombers and Bulldogs in last two rounds.

SEVEN in a row, lookout cats.
Cheers.

It was announced yesterday that a new team for Western Sydney will join the comp in 2012.

I'll be curious to see if it generates new fans, or if some of the Swans fans will migrate.

...that's well old news I'm afraid, Greg. The AFL started preparing for the new team's addition in 2008 and the club was properly launched about a year ago now, if my memory serves me correctly.

All the talk about Israel Folau in the past months has been because the Greater Western Sydney Team signed him to a four year contract at over a million bucks a year. If Carmichael Hunt's performance in the VFL is anything to base other League player's abilities on, it was a massive waste of money for them!
