For those of you with Foxtel, Megafactories: Heineken is on nine times over the next week. Thanks to my mum for the tip-off about this

It's described on the Foxtel site thus:

Had dinner at the Colonial Hotel near Werrington, Penrith last weekend. A Heineken cap with every schooner purchased. Lovely!

You guys who fork out $1000+ every year for Murdoch's Foxtel or the other one (Austel?) know there's another alternative right? It's called Downloadtel. No adverts, no constant repeating of the same fodder, and the porn channel's included at no extra charge : )

All you need to watch on your TV is an HDMI cable [maybe $20 at Jaycar] to connect the PC/laptop to the TV, an xbox or playstation 3 with direct cable or wireless connection to a good router, and then some cheap software: Tversity or PS3 Media Server (PS3 Media Server is free, and works on xbox 360, though I prefer Tversity.)

Does it do live sport from around the world?

Yeah it does. Murdoch is pretty worried about it too. (Hence all the activity to close down sites such as MyP2P recently.) Pretty hard though to stop peer to peer streaming of live sport when the site is based in China or Russia. Tversity is crap though with live sport....almost impossible to configure internet feeds. To watch live sport on TV using peer to peer streaming, I just setup the TV as second monitor and switch to it directly from the desktop - Right click with mouse, Properties, Settings. Then use a cordless mouse with the TV...the links to rugby, nfl, etc are via certain websites/forums. Some are flash based, and others utilise programs designed for peer to peer live streaming such as streamtorrent or SopCast.

If you want to subscribe to Downloadtel, the best value for money package, imho, would be the "Platinum: Peer to Peer Sports Package." $0 per month." Other packages include the "Gold: I Like junk American shit TV' package", also $0 per month, and the "Silver: I'm so over this TV shit now, think I'll go find a nice quiet pub, one without f---ing plasmas everywhere, and read a book" package. Also, er, $0 per month.

Foxtel is a bit of a rip off, but I need my daily sports fix.

I'm only paying half though.
I got a second box and gave it to my mate. He pays half the bill.Only works though if your friend already has the dish/cable.

Another good one of those Megafactories shows, which was also on last night, is the Jack Daniels episode.
