How did you discover homebrewandbeer.com

Postby Oliver » Wednesday Nov 24, 2010 5:25 pm

Hi chaps and chapettes,

I was reading another thread that caused me to wonder how the 2600+ members here found homebrewandbeer.com.

I thought "what a good poll question" :D

If you vote "Other" I'd be interested to know what that "other" is.

And if you used a search engine, were you specifically looking for information about homebrewing or beer, or did you just stumble across us?

Cheers,

Oliver

Typed 'homebrew' into Google, selected Australia only and hit enter.

Yeah, it was the first result on Google for me too. Read everything out front before joining up in here though.

Oliver,
I voted "Other"
I thought it was on this site but it might have been another because I can't find the user name in the members list for which I'm about to explain.

A mate had posted about air locks for some reason & sent me a link to it.
His username was soggypilchard.
So I signed up to give him a gee up.
I replied by saying that the next time he puts a brew down, he should carefully sanitise his fermenter, including lid, remove O ring, sanitise that & air lock.
Then take the airlock to the nearest open window & throw it as far as he can!
Go down the street & buy a roll of glad wrap & he will never brew a bad beer again :D :D :D

So my vote may need to be changed to google search too!

Cheers, Mick.

I did a search for 'james squire golden ale recipe'.

Might have had homebrew in the search as well.

This was the first site that came up.

Same result came up when i searched for 'little creatures pale ale'.

Searched google for reviews of hombrew kits prior to purchasing coopers brewery, this was the first site that came up.
Nothing interesting to see here, move along.

After my missus bought me my first ever fermenter, I decided I'd do as much reading about beer as I could (all of this reading was done whilst I was supposed to be working, of course.) Anyhoo, googled homebrew and found the site. Like Bum, I read all the info on the front page(s) before signing up on the forum.
