Lobethal Bierhaus Bohemian Pilsener

The good, the bad and the ugly of commercial beer and breweries, including microbreweries and craft breweries.

Lobethal Bierhaus Bohemian Pilsener

Postby Pale_Ale » Tuesday May 19, 2009 9:38 am

Tried this last week...I'd always heard that the Lobethal was a great micro (and a great place to eat apparently) so when I got the chance to try the Bohemian Pilsener I jumped at it.

Anyway, this is a delicious malty pilsener that really agreed with me. Big on flavour and goes very nicely with spicy food.

I will have to get up there and try some more of their beers...

Tis my local (micro) - just up the road from me.

I have found the Bohemian P(h)ilsner (Phil is one of the brewers - their IPA is called India Pale Al after the other brewer - Alistair) to be a touch sweet for my taste. I love their IPA and the red truck porter.

Agreed, it is rather sweet for a Pilsener, probably not in style, but I find it malty in a way that is not oversweet.

I'll have to give the IPA a go :D
