Schofferhofer Hefe

The good, the bad and the ugly of commercial beer and breweries, including microbreweries and craft breweries.

Never seen it or heard of it till the other day so I bought a couple of bottles to give it a go and I have to say it is very nice, this hefeweizen is now on the top of my list to try and clone, anyone ever tried the beer in question? What were you'r thoughts?

It's a fantastic drop....

And the bottles are very nice for HB too. As for cloning it, you will need the proper yeast. WB06 (dried) or Wyeast 3068 (liquid) or the White Labs equivalent.

Mmm, I had a bottle about a week ago after not having tried on for about a year... I really like how it is quite savory and spicy for a wheat beer.

Is that the one with the toffee apple flavour? If so, tasty.

To give it its correct title: Schöfferhofen

It's a fantastic beer, one of my favourite hefeweizens.
Earlier this year Dan's had it in a 5 pack with a Schöfferhofen glass as a bonus.

Yeah. I got two of those packs. Love the glasses- and any excuse to get them out.

I have two of them, but they are strictly for my exclusive use only, as they look to potentially be fragile.
Hangers on get the Franziskaner glasses, which are much sturdier.

Spewin I would have loved to get those glasses, I collect beer glasses and bottles and that would have gone right next to my pride and joy, A big fat stein from Oktoberfest in germany that my brother in law kindly brought back for me
