hi all love stout useing coopers and add some licorice ess. to brew for head, was told corn starch helps too question is when do i pit it in and do i just dissolve it in water?
Steep the corn starch (cover it in boiling water from the kettle) for maybe 20 minutes to kill off any nasties it may have picked up and add it to the fermenter when you're adding the rest of your ingredients. If you already dissolve your tin in boiling water in the fermenter then just add it to that.
Try the two can stout. One of my favourites usually keep a few bottles of it around. Coopers Stout + Coopers Dark Ale + 500gm LDME. This beer has no problems holding a good head, but give it a couple of months before getting stuck into it.
