Filters

I'm pretty sure this has been done, but I can't really find it.

Anyway... filtering.

I was looking at probably a 1micron filter. I know the theory, but how does the filtering affect the beer flavour at this porosity? I was really only looking at filtering lagers, but the odd ale may get the treatment too.

Anyone had experience with a filter less than 1micron? If so, how has it worked out?

Ross' filter looks like the one to go for, but I am still uncertain about the effect on the flavour.

I believe Ross filters all his beers. Might be worth giving him a ring considering you're thinking of buying his product.

I had the good fortune to taste a few of Ross' beers on one occassion and can tell you that none of them were lacking in flavour. I am pretty certain they were all filtered with the same filter he sells and though I did not taste them against the unfiltered batch, I would not be worried myself about losing much if any flavour to this process.

That filter removes impurities from water by means of a fine physical barrier, a chemical process or a biological process. Filters cleanse water to various extents for drinking water.

He was actually speaking of a filter that you run your beer through after its finished fermenting not purifying the brewing water.
