Hey guys,

I just got a hold of some second hand gear including a pull down tap and stainless steel ball lock fittings. These both have a lot of grit and grime in and around them and I was wondering how to go about cleaning them?

Should I use the Brewcraft keg/beer line cleaner I have or something else?

I just have them sitting in hot water at the moment to loosen it up a bit..

Thanks, Bill

The tap you'd pull apart and perhaps replace the seals on. Apart from that the keg cleaner would be a good idea too (it's closely related to drain cleaner, so it's pretty serious stuff).

Anyone got instructions on pulling apart taps? I've only seen the pluto gun instructions on here.

I've seen a few HBS' that sell service kits for taps, check if the said kits include disassembly instructions. I'm all pluto gun myself so info is only anecdotal.

Cheers,
Greg
