Cool Rob, especially at that price :)

Mate, is there any use in this software for k & k brewers, or is it just for extract / AG brewers ?

cheers
Chris, WA

Hey Chris,

Yes i guess at this stage it is geared towards AG/Extract. All the information (Colour/Bitterness/Gravity) from the Kit Manufactures is available
so i may be able to tweak the program slightly and include the cans of goo in the database.

Rob.

Hi Rob,

Without me downloading it (and not really understanding yet what I'm doing),

Is it ok to use for partial mash ?

Cheers,
Chris...

Just downloaded this program today. Have to say, it's terific! I had been using a spreadsheet that I downloaded from another brewing forum and this is a whole lot better.

EDIT: May have spoken too soon. Don't know how to add the weights of my fermentables and I don't know how to re-size the window so that it fits entirely on my monitor. Help, Rob!

A most effective one, at that. So irreparably damages the female libido that no nasal delivery technology could ever help, regardless of the size of the woman in question's nostrils.

...I can't remember what I was asking about, now. Oh well.

Hey Jeremiah.

Sorry for the late reply i've been of the grid for the last couple of weeks on my Honeymoon :O

There are 2 Main ways to use BrewMate - Either with percentages of the Grain Bill (which is the default)
or by Grain Weight (which is what you were asking for)

to change it to grain weight goto Settings / Grain Bill Calculation & Choose "Grain Weight"

if you would like this as the default click Settings & Choose "Save Current as Default"

Hope this helps

Rob.

P.s. love the banter :D funny stuff

It's a shame the US can't just get with the program and metricise

Did I just make up a word?

I think you did!
Americans can be pretty slow sometimes so give it another 200years and they might go to the metric system.

They definitely should metricise -- there, I said it too, it's now a word. How wonderful it is to have a described language, as opposed to a prescribed one. I'm sure the Academie Francaise would have a collective heart attack if we were doing this on a French forum!

I downloaded the most recent BrewMate update. It really is a great tool, now that I've been told how to add grain by weight!

i downloaded it months ago and couldn't add weights until recently either, Very Thrustrating!
Hey Rob, have you thought about adding style IBU's or SRM for those not so knowledgeable like myself, give us a target to hit.
Cheers

Hey Rotten,

Yes BrewMate has the full BJCP Style guidelines and with the "Style Nazi" mode it will let you know if your recipe is outside of these guidelines by highlighting it in yellow and there is a tool tip to let you know the desired guidelines for the styles. Give it a try it really works well

Cheers Rob.

I've been using this for recipes, mostly doing kit & bits at the moment but it is very handy. A well designed program, and it looks pretty!

I like the new upgrades randyrob, downloaded onto a laptop the other day and got the new version. Only one request to make which doesn't really matter in the long run. I mash out and sparge, could you include a mash out calc on brewday instead of just mash and sparge?
Also how is the balance value calculated? Whats the science behind it? I don't know whats good and whats not.
Great Program.
Cheers
