I have a Morgan's Wheat to put down with the tin of Wheat Malt
Was thinking of adding some honey, I have 500gms of Coolibah honey
Am interested in opinions, is it too much, not enough ? etc
Thanks in advance for any responses
Cheers
I've just racked the same recipe BP & I used 325g honey in that one with some hallertau hops & it worked out fantastic...500g might be a little much but if you're not putting any Dextrose in it, that should be fine...sounds like a goer mate...let us know how you go!Beerpig wrote:I have a Morgan's Wheat to put down with the tin of Wheat Malt

It wasnt so much what it had to do with dextrose, I figured the extra honey would be a fermentable like dextrose, is this not correct?Chris wrote:Jack,
what has honey got to do with dextrose? Dextrose does not impart, or even affect honey flavour in beer???
So my assumption is corrrect that honey is a fermentable & the extra amount would compensate for not adding any dextrose?Wassa wrote:Honey is a fermentable just like dextrose and IMHO adds a level of complexity to your brew. I cannot comment about wheat beers becuase I don't like them (and can't understand what the fascination is with them) but I have used honey in porters and even in a lager and it has adeed an extra level to the taste.
