Bottled at the end of March, however this is just too damn sweet. I would probably use 500gms of LDME and 500g rice next time, and add some super alpha hops.

Rob,

Do you think that there may be as much residual sugar in 500g of malt extract as in 1kg Brew Enhancer 2, thus resulting in the same problem with an overly sweet beer?

What about using 500g BE2, 500g dextrose and 500g rice malt extract?

Just a thought.

Cheers,

Oliver

G'day Oliver,

I've tried this with both the Coppers Lager and the Morgans Lager.
The brew made with the Morgans was brilliant and MUCH better than the Coopers.
Some tasters said better than the original.
Determined to move away from the cans and have tried a couple of times with moderate success.
Next attempt as follows. this for a 50 litre batch

Briess pilsener LME 5 kgs
Light DME 1.5 kgs
Rice syrup 1.5 kgs

Pearle 50 grams for 60 mins
Cluster 50 grams for 30 mins
Tettnang 50 grams at 0 mins.

Wyeast 2042 Danish Lager
and because I harvest my yeasts, I always use a yeast starter. this one will be 2 litres.
