Re: dip tube length
that would require an extra step and another fridge. the truth is im lazy and that is not very high on my list of brewing equipment upgrades.
honestly its less then (pi r2h) 3.14*100*1cm=314ml
the tube was inside the tiny dimple reservoir (5mm give or take deep) so lets half that = 157ml
and the ...

hard to tell what the waste really is. when some brew snob has a go, but decides before tasting it that it dosent taste good becuase it dosent look right and then dosent have more then 2 sips thus wasting 90% of a glass... or if it was just a waste giving that fool beer in the first place.

good point, i dont have a sub board... lucky i never tried that.
i have found that 3 elements from 3 circuits coming from all over the place is enough to get 50lt going and then 1 is enough to maintain the boil.

Re: Hose length for twin tap off 1 keg.
agreed. its about as pointless as a bar that i promptly left which had a tripple font with calton draught, blonde and then carlton draught again.
i would be investing in a second (or 4th) keg to run multiple styles but in the mean time only worrying about getting one tap shooting.

Re: stiff regulator
if you can work out how to cross threads with a bolt 75% in to the nut then you're a better man then me. i struggled to turn it down from a high pressure meaning i was unscrewing it from a fair way in.
my guess is the bolt manufacturer did not cut the bolt with the die entirely (or however they ...

oil free now. i dont have grafite around but its one of those things i have been meaning to get.
anyhow, i pulled it to peices and found high parts of the thread pushed to the lower parts. wire buff did 2 parts of bugger all. i ended up using a combination of a new hacksaw blade and a razor with ...

11 months ago when my regulator arived i could adjust the pressure using my only my finger tips, a few months later i had to upgrade to a screw driver and last time vice grips had used to turn the pressure back down after gasing up a keg. a squirt of wd40 on the screw and a bit of turning back and ...

pressure from n2O is a great way to whip cream. try the cream bulbs if you can find them and the lowest fat milk around... might work nice

Re: HLT advice
electric kettle elements work very well for me. i installed 3 of them into a 70lt pot by cutting holes in the side and using the existing kettle seals, nice and easy in theory but not when you dont have the right tools to do it.
the results are great, with three elements runing i can raise the ...
