fruity beer

hi, my kit beer tastes fruity, brewed at 20 degrees kit yeast, it is 3 weeks old in keg, will the fruity taste go out of it as it ages

What is the kit? And the rest of the ingredients? And how certain can you be that the ferment didn't go higher than 20 deg?

G'day huntsy,
Fruity beer typically means you've used an ale yeast that has been fermented pretty warm - around 24 to 26C or warmer. You suggest it was fermented at 20C? Possibly old yeast may be the answer.

Was the wort pretty warm when you pitched the yeast? You can often get the fruity notes in the first 12 or so hours especially if the yeast took off really quickly - it will happily adapt to that temp and add the fruity esters before the wort has fully cooled down to 20 degrees.

I'm afraid the fruity notes will not go away...Next time, wait until the wort is cool (18 degrees is ideal for ale but 20C will be ok) before you pitch the yeast.
