G,day All,

Just a quick one ive just used up some left overs from a 19 lt keg & the only bottles i could
find were a couple of longnecks that i had sitting around so clean them out & bottle them up !!

Ah now what do i do ive only got the caps that were on the longnecks & the capper is @ my mates
place up the otherside of town ?? :| ,

So i just pushed & screwed them back on as tight as i could  ,

So now im wondering if this will work,i supose its a trial & error will they just blow the tops
off after a few weeks or just presure up as normal.

Cheers Rob.

Hi Rob

I assume from what you've written the longnecks are screw tops. I know someone who re-uses caps (tightarse) and just screws them back on when he's bottling - no problems most of the time but occasionally he has a flat bottle. Its more likely that the gas would leak than blow the tops off.

How big is Orange - perhaps you could get the capper from the other side of town in the next few days and give the caps a tighten up.

As a future contingency, a lot of people seem to use PET soft drink bottles for the excess when kegging or even for all their bottling. Maybe keep a few of them on hand. Cheap too.

We are on a level 5.5 restriction that means only water gardens with a bucket on Sundays between 6pm - 7pm,
