Well i thought id crack a stubbie of my first home brew tonight, has been in the bottle for 17 days now so thought it would be drinkable.
It is really sweet. like a couple mouthfuls then tip out sweet!
Was a simle k & k brew using a Brewcraft Munich Lager with 1.5kg of fermentables (dextrose, light malt and 100grams corn syrup).
I also dry hopped it 3 days before bottling with 12gms of Hallertau. Was primed with those 'Coopers' drop things as they came with the pack.
So should i just leave it a while longer??
I can assure you that i cleaned and sanitised everything thoroughly before bottling.

How well carbonated was it? 17 days at ambient (if this is how you store your bottles) might not be enough time at Tassie temps. Definitely not long enough for me here in Melbourne right now. If there's bugger all in the way of bubbles then that's why it's so sweet and time will sort it out.

I bottled a batch of Mild 5 weeks ago, and it's only now carbed up.
It was also quite sweet at 2 weeks, but it's lost that now the priming sugar has fermented out.
Give it time, as noted above.
Your beer will carb in its own good time.

Oh shoot forgot to mention it has a pretty good head!
There is/was a constant stream of bubbles once in the glass.
Ill just leave it for a few more weeks and give it another try.
Cheers
