white film like substance

The last 2 brews I have put down have both had a white film like substance floating on top of the brew. I removed what I could with a scoop. I bottled it, and 2 months later when I openned it the white stuff had come back. What is it? and is it safe to drink? Yes, I'm new at the brewing business. Anyone got any answers for me, please.

Acetobactor probably.If it tastes ok, you can drink it. Won't hurt you...

I had one about 2 weeks ago that I had put heaps of LDME in that had a crusty / oily film on top, I thought OMG 1st infection in over 20yrs how’s that .. I read some stuff on the net and it said to bottle or keg and leave the crust on top undisturbed.. And just take the liquid from under it ..
So I did ..

I kegged it .. Drank it .. Tasted pretty bloody good really..

When u go to drink it if it goes in your mouth and taste like some just ****** in it and you have no choice but to spit it out or vomit, then it’s no good ..

But from what i have read there are varying degrees of infection..
Some you can’t taste or smell ..
Others the eat alcohol..
Some eat oxygen and may have indeed saved your beer from going stale..
Some make it taste funny others make it smell funny,,
and some witch make it so rancid not even your dog will drink it ..

I read on the net that some types of beers in some countries do that on perpose as they think that a white slick on the top of their beer is the shiznit.

I read a few weeks ago about one guy said he had a fur growing on top of his wort and just drained underneath it and said it tasted fine personally I wouldn’t drink it I’m not that much of a tight ass to drink beer with fur growing on it, lol.

Anyway Just have a go mate ull know whether its drinkable pretty quickly that I will guarantee you..
You then might want to start looking into whats going on and why it is happing
