Have just recently revisited home brewing and put down a Cascade Golden Harvest. Bottles were properly primed with dextrose. It tastes great but is flat - even after boiled glasses were used. I took the easy way and put my bottles through the dishwasher using dishwasher detergent and then sanitized with Brewcraft sanitizer. I wonder is this is my problem and if so can I still use the dishwasher with another detergent to clean my bolttles. Any comments.

Also, I would appreciate any comments on whether, when brewing with kits - is using the Coopers Brew Enhancer 1 or 2 better or much the same as using the special blend from the Home Brew shops (powdered corn syrup dextrose and light malt)

Need a bit more info mate ..
What kind of bottles were that glass or plastic ?
Were they stubby or long necks ?
How many drops did u put in each bottle?
How long ago did you bottle them ?
What temp were they stored in ?
As for the enhancer I have never used that brew enhancer stuff I always use light or dark malt.
The corn syrup is supposed to give you a better head but ive never had to use that ether as if anything the reverse is my prob,
to much head from cold beer going through a hot tap unless the beer is still green..

Thanks for your reply - I used powdered dexrose and used a proper measured scoop for glass stubbies. The scoop as supplied in the home brew section/stores- one end for stubbies and the other end for tallies. Brew fermented at a controlled 22 degrees, then bottled and stored for 2 weeks at 22 degrees controlled temp. and then matured at room temp for the last 6 weeks.

is there sediment on the bottoms of the bottles and have you tried more than one just in case u got one bad one that was leaking ?
