Temperature question

I have a Munich Lager which i've just put in the fermenter. The temps at the moment outside are averaging 35-40 degrees so i pulled the shelves out of my fridge and put it in there. I know Lagers should ferment around 10-12 degress, but the fridge only goes just under 10 at the highest setting. Because of the higher ambient temp and me working during the day i have no other option to keep the temp down all day. Just wanted to ask, is the lower temp going to wreck the beer or will it just take longer to ferment???
Thanks

What yeast are you using?
Most good lager yeasts still happily chew thru all the sugars well under 10C. It does take longer to ferment at this temp, up to 4 weeks in some cases. Just take an SG reading every few days.
I ferment most of my lagers as cool as possible. 8C is my magic number.

Yeah it seems to be about 7-8 degrees, i just had a brewing thermometer in there. The yeast i'm using is SafLager S-23. was kept in the fridge till needed then re-hydrated in 1 cup of warmish water with a teaspoon of dextrose while i did the boil.

Will be happy as a pig in shit at that temperature.
And your beer will be better for it.
