The good, the bad and the ugly of commercial beer and breweries, including microbreweries and craft breweries.

Sunshine Coast Chilli Beer

Post by WSC »

Anyone tried this beer?

Had one on the weekend and the first mouth full is hot but then you get used to it and it feels like a hotter ginger beer. Not fantastic but not awefull either.

Love to hear other thoughts, I know some people have brewed their own version of this but this is the first commercial/boutique/non home brew version I have tried.
Never tasted FREE beer I couldn't learn to like!

The Outback Brewery does one too. According to the bottle they hail from Loftus NSW, which is hardly outback but hey, whatever sells beers...
Anyway, it wasn't hot at all. Slight taste of chilli but no heat. I was quite disappointed. Come to think of it their Pale Ale wasn't mush chop either.
I'll keep an eye out for the Sunshine one, though I doubt its too common in Melbourne.

Drank another bottle of this tonight and it definately is growing on me.

Might look to do something similar.

I also like the sound of a chocolate chilli stout.
