Help me guess what "Beer Sugar Thick Sauce" is...

I found a place locally that sells something they say is an ingredient for brewing. Unfortunately, they don't have seem to have any barley based extracts but they do have something that translates directly into English as "Beer Sugar Thick Sauce." They say that is made from corn. I am guessing this is maltodextrin/corn syrup... anything else it could be?
From what I have seen on past posts maltodextrin is semi fermentable so it adds body and helps head retention and doesn't impart too much off flavor if less than 300g is added to the boil. If it is maltodextrin, this seems like it could be a pretty good option for me to combine with my overpriced Coopers kits ($28 AUD!!!!) and the 1 to 1.5 kilos of glucose I have been adding to my brews. They have had poor head retention (def not the glasses!) and are pretty light in body if I don't add oatmeal.
