I looked at the clock at bottom right hand corner of the pc a moment ago. It read 10:56. I immediately thought 'Cal Ale!'
Should I be worried?
Cheers,
Greg

If it was a Sunday, no... Monday, yes...
I have a bad habit of occasionally grabbing a beer out of the fridge (without noticing) when what i was really after was the milk for my brekkie... is that bad?

Go Bo Pils on Corn Flakes, best way to start the morning

It's a Heart Starter at that time of the day
I do not think you have a problem.....It's Beer O'Clock somewhere in the world.
My rule of thumb is 12 Noon on Weekends and whenever I knock off work for weekdays.
Lunch Party on the weekends?? As soon as the first guest arrives or 12 Noon, whichever comes first
Cheers

Well i opened my first LCPA at about 11 yesty... but it was rather warm (the day, not the beer), and everyone else had opened champagne...
i have seen my dad have a beer at about 8 on a sunday morning, but it was also warm that day, and he'd been up since 6 mowing the lawn, so he's earnt that one...
I guess it just depends what you are doing... if its a special event, you can break the rules (i had opened my second kristall by 8am on christmas day).. Otherwise, i try not to have a beer till 6pm on weekdays, or midday on weekends. If the little lady is away, the rules also bend a little (quota and time of consumption).

I have a mate that has travelled all over europe and in alot of countries, especially Germany they actually have beer breaks at work where everyone ( say on a trade site for eg) stops for 5 mins and has a beer, they also drink one before work, no-one gets pissed as they are only having 1 beer every couple of hours but the companys worked out that the productivity is awesome because everyone loves being at work, wish they would bring that out here

I think I follow you Greg. Its not wanting a drink but the association of the number and brewing. Maybe its the homebrewing equivalent of the number 23, like in the recent Jim Carrey movie. Start to worry when you can associate every number you see with homebrewing.

23L is my standard batch size, it is also the size of two of my kegs

Agree wit the special occasion beer.....
Earliest beer was on Anzac Day many moons ago where straight after the dawn service at Seven Hills RSL, we wandered in for breakfast.
Cousin "What do you want to drink Boonie?"
Boonie "OJ please, wee bit hungover from the night before where we finished at 12 Midnight"
Tooheys new on the table at around 5:30am

, by midday we were goooooooooooooooone and stumbled home with the diggers.......ahhhhhh the memories
BTW, the first one went down like a brick........oh, and this was when I was a commercial drinker.
Cheers
Boonie

Why not put a bit of masking tape on your screen where you display your clock?
Problem solved, easy on the conscience, and always time for a beer.

Referring to original post...
Did you feel any better an hour and twenty one minutes later? I think First Time is better than Second Time, although I've only tried the latter once...
