Fitzroy Amber Ale

Post by Bob the Brewer »

Morning lads, you aw’right

Had a sensational ale last night – Fitzroy Amber Ale.

The pale ale they produce is decent, but not the same league as Coopers. Their amber ale on the other hand is brilliant! Very smooth with a great after taste that me mate described as “peachish”. I don’t know if that was it :? , but the slight fruitiness really worked. :D

Can anyone suggest a way to give such an after taste to an amber ale, or more generally has anyone got a great recipe for an amber ale?

Thanks for you suggestions & help.

Cheers to good brewing!

How did you brew with peaches Dogger? Do you simply place a couple peaches in the wort and brew as normal :?: Sounds delicious!

db - thanks for the link mate, looks like a great beers awards festival 8)

Cheers to good brewing!

haven't tried the Fitzroy Amber Ale, but I am deeply in love with the James Squire Amber Ale: recipe elsewhere on this site sometime in the last month.

Bob,

Were you drinking at the Labour in Vain on Brunswick Street?

If so, did you notice the old Cooper's steel cans (including Sparkling Ale) as decorations? Not sure when they date from, but must be quite some time ago.

Cheers,

Oliver

Oliver,

I was at the Cornish Arms on Sydney rd. Though I have enjoyed many a fine pint at the Labour in Vain. It's a great Fitzroy pub. The collection of old cans and bottles they have there are impressive eh!

Cheers,
Bob
