Secondly, is 3.3m for a 5mm beer line good? This is for a pluto gun, and assuming a serving pressure of 100kpa.

I never knew anything but the bronco tap.

Growing up in the US when you buy a keg of beer you deposit a few dollars for a little hand pump bronco assembly with it. I never could figure out how pumping air into a keg did not cause the beer to go off, but we used to keep them for weeks and they were just as good at the end as at the start

Yeah, that's the bronco pump. This is the bronco tap. Pretty decent pour too.

Shiny Pluto Gun. Off the top of my head I run about 2 metres of line at 10psi, seems to work ok.

Pluto gun all the way. I have one of each, and the bronco is a piece of junk by comparison, though it may be the short length of wide hose that it comes attached to. Bronco's super cheap tho.

Having said that, I don't use either now that I have a font with two taps.

I do remember it was a real PITA to get the pump to work properly. The pressure was pretty much guess and check and you either got a glass of foam or it took 15 minutes to tap a brew!

This leads me to wonder, why does a party keg need to be primed with CO2? Could you not just hand pump for pouring pressure?

The pluto looks fantastic. I'm connecting it up for the first time for my Oktoberfest. Looking forward to giving it a go

So gregb, 2m at 10psi/70kpa will do the trick? I'm trying to get my line length nice and short.

rwh, I find the bronco ok. Pour is fine and as you said- cheap. I've got one on each keg at Ross' suggestion.

Kev, why was the party keg pressurised? You're right about it only needing a hand pump.

The oxygen in air will oxidise your beer. Theoretically.

Too bloody right mate! I am thinking, $8 for a 5L pressure sprayer, rig up a $8 bronco tap to the end of the hose. Fill it with batch primed brew to self carbonate. Chill and take it to the beach with some mates

Worst case we drink flat cold beer at the beach? Too easy!

I have both but only use the pluto at the moment as i bought the bronco and a keg charger to be more mobile, have not used the bronco yet but will be interesting how good it turns out to be after hearing mixed reports

i'm using a bronco tap until i decide to spend the money on some taps to mount on the fridge door. can't fault it for the price.

Chris, put the tape measure on it, is only 140 cm. Harris reg is in PSI, I line the needle up with the ten mark and all is good.

How do you connect the line to the black liquid disconnect?

I did it (hopefully correctly) by pushing the screw-on cover up the line, inserting the metal nozzel thing, pulling the metal cover back down the line, putting the small white plastic washer inside the housing, and screwing it all together.

Is that right?

Chris only ever used the pluto gun found it great. 3.3m for 5mm line is about right.

Heat up the line in hot water and push it down over the metal barb on the liquid disconnect. Then clamp the line to the barb with whatever type of clamp you have been supplied.





If this is different to yours let or not the part you are after let me know and I will try and get pics of the correct part.

Sounds like you have done it correctly but I'm not sure where the washer goes I have not seen a disconnect with a washer.

I didn't need the boiling water as the barb was a LOT thinner than on my gas disconnect.

The washer is just a small cup-shaped piece of plastic that went over the black plastic bit inside the housing. The fitting is the one from here:

I bought a beer gun and cant seem to get it to pour properly the same keg pours great from the tap on the fridge
