I think the answer is no but...I have a Coopers Pale Ale kit to do ( with cascade hop and crushed crystal grain to add to it... I also have 24 coopers pale ale bottles saved. Is it possible to re - use the bottles wit their twist off caps. ( I live in Ireland where we have little hoem brewing/ less twist off coopers pale ale bottles Id hate to throw them out if there is a chance)

If they're the same as the bottles in Australia you can just cap them as you would for crown seals, no problems.

Surely you'd be able to get some new crown seals (twist off caps) from where you got the can?

To be sure, I have heard of some fellas on here using the caps again. They put them on using a squash ball cut in half

You can use screw top bottles no worries, if you are using new crown seals simply cap them as you would with a normal bottle, if you are trying to re use the old caps, I believe that is successful as well, but I have never tried that, for the price of new caps it doesn't seem worth the trouble.

You can definately reuse the caps. Have a go next time you open a twist off bottle, they are a bit rough on the hands but you can twist them back down.

An old bloke i work with re-uses his screw tops all the time and has no trouble with them going flat.

I read it the other way

When he said "wit their twist off caps", my assumption was he meant plural as he said "Twist off caps " not twist top necks.

I have a circular bottle opener that you can twist the lids on and off with.

I know two old blokes doing this and have tasted ones beer (ok )

They both twist them back on the twist tops and one uses a bench capper to put them on to crown seal bottles.

I tried a couple for "research" (The old guys pressured me)
It is a lot easier to buy caps

As Boonie wrote earlier, I posted some time ago that I used to re-use twist bottle caps by simply screwing them back on using a circular bottle opener. If I couldn't lay my hands on that gadget, half a squash ball did the job. Never had a flat bottle. Never needed a bottle capper.

Have since graduated to Schwelmer 500ml swingtops, so still don't have a bottle capper.

Need to sanitise the caps, whichever method you use.
