Two tin stout............

Hi all,
Got a bit creative.................maybe too much.
Just put down a two tin stout.
Two tins of coopers stout
350g of dex
200g of lactose
60g of coca powder
Sounded like a good idea at the time, but the bitterness of two tins and the coca powder...........................
Hoping the lactose will counteract the bitterness???????????
Might have to sit this one in the bottle for a while..........then some.

Not sure, i haven't made a stout but that sounds like it'll have a massive head on it!!!

Use a blow off tube. It will probably super krausen.

I find a tin of stout and a tin of a dark ale work well for stouts, and will usually be less bitter. Aside from that, dark ME.
As for bitterness, it will probably be drinkable. I wouldn't worry too much about that. After 3-6 months or so, I reckon you'll have a pretty tasty beer. Maybe even before that.

You hit the nail on the head. Got up to check the brew this morning only to find an 8'' brown stain up the wall!!!
It is bubbling like mad, but only air now not krausen!

Like Chris mentioned earlier, I find that 1 x Stout 1 x Dark Ale works a treat. I made one last year with the coca and it was good after about 3 months, but was bloody great after 12 months.

What exactly is a blow off tube? are they just home made?

Blow-off - A type of airlock arrangement consisting of a tube exiting from the fermenter, submerging into a bucket of water, that allows the release of carbon dioxide and removal of excess fermentation material.
