blue berries

Post by Mr. Meaty »

Hey guys,
Has anyone ever made a Blue Berry beer. I had one at a boutique brewery here in Bris tasted pretty good. I noticed Oliver made a beer with Raseberrys in it so I thought I would do it the same way. Anyone got any ideas? Throw a blue berry in each bottle or throw them in with the brew?

Hey Mr. Meaty,

I did a Boysenberry Lager ( my 4 yr old asked 'what about the girls?' ) using a tin of Malt Shovel lager to 11.5 ltrs and a 425gm tin of boysenberries. Was pretty pleased with the end result after leaving it for about 6 months, not real fruity, but had that fruity tartness. Just threw the fruit straight into the Carboy, no boiling.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Matty
