Top 5ive "Drinking" Beers
Top 5ive "Drinking" Beers
Ok, so we all know that Chimay Blue is a top drop, and that other German beer made by a long lost tribe of buxom bavarian wenches is good too. But what about "drinking" beers ? I mean you'd be hard pressed having a night on Chimay Blue (you probably wouldn't last the night to start with).
So yeah, what are your top 5ive DOMESTIC "drinking" beers ?
Mine -
1. Coopers Sparkling Ale
2. Little Creatures Pale Ale
3. James Squires Amber Ale
4. Tooheys Old
5. Redback Original

Evo - Part Man, Part Ale
Depends on the situation and availability but here goes.
1.James Squire Amber Ale (carton/pub)
2.Cooper's Sparkling Ale (carton)
3.Coopers's Dark Ale (carton)
4.Tooheys Old (pub/carton)
5.Carlton Draught (pub/carton)
Tooheys Old and CD are the cheaper options for a big night when many a beverage is consumed while the top three are for enjoying in smaller quantities.
Will try a Chimay on the weekend for Dad's 50th as everyone seems to be raving about it.
Jay.

At the pub:
Coopers Pale - agree with Oliver Sparky is way too heavy for a session
Cascade Four Seasons range
Squires
Tooheys Old tied with ( depends on the day) Tooheys New (braces for a barrage of abuse)
To impress the barman pour a Coopers into a glass then write your initial (in my case a 'G') in the head of a beer with the mud.
In the Carton
Coopers Pale
Matilda Bay Bohemian Pilsner
Squires
Old and New as per above.
I am yet to try the Mountain Goat range, but I am impressed by the IPA and Stout blurbs on the website.

Greg, been as you like tooheys old and new, have you have tried a tooheys 50? Its a half and half of old and new, an old boy at the pub, talked me into it the other day, quite drinkable and doesn't have the bloating feeling that you get with a skinful of old!
AS for my top beers:
James Squire Amber Ale
James Squire PIlsener
Redback Original
Coopers Pale Ale
Coopers Sparkling
in no particular order!

Ok I'll give it a go. Hard to pick only 5 fav's so I'll limit to tap availabilities around town.
1 Cooper's Pale
2 JS Amber Ale
3 Toohey's Old (the missus would kill me if it wasn't on the list)
4 VB (Am waiting for the abuse to start but it would be wrong for me not to include. Drank far to much of it before discovering what I was missing out on and still go there occasionally as you can't always afford the goos stuff eh.)
5 Cascade Pale/JS Pilsener
Little Creatures Pale would be just about my favourite Aussie drop but does not exist on tap here.

What about Boags?
I agree with most re Coopers Sparkling and Pale being on the list. I would add:
Hahn Premium with some lime or lemon added to the neck
Boag Premium
Little Creatures
and would not allow anything labelled Tooheys onto the list

Don't drink as much in boozers these days but here goes;-
1) Has to be be Tooheys Old
2)Coopers Sparkling (Too heavy?????I know the Mardi Gras is imminent but what has happened to the men!!!!!)
3) DAB;- just had three pints for lunch at the German Club--very palatable.
4)Tooheys new as I now have a mild aversion to VB.Will drink Cascade and Boags if on tap in preference to the new or VB.It's a question of availability.
5) Suppose this should be at 1 but relegated to 5 so as not to offend our erstwhile host-------Crown Bloody lager...

Prince Edward Island, the Island Province North of New Brunswick, known for potatoes, red mud, and Anne of Green Gables the Centennial Causeway and ofcourse Hockey.
Where can you get Coopers Stout? I have only been able to find the Sparkling in Canada.

Hey there people,
My top 5 commercial beers in varying order depending on the day/mood are:
Hoegaarden Wit Bier
Coopers Best Extra Stout
Pilsner Urquel
Boddingtons Pub Ale
Guinness, but only on tap
That shitty Steinlager isn't too bad lol
Also, if any one has the chance to try the Holgates range, they're pretty good, but it's a local beer in Woodend, central Victoria.
Cheers,
Matty
