hi chaps, i'm looking to rid my brews of the "homebrew taste" as mentioned by someone in a previous post. Someone suggested that this was due to using brewing sugar. I'd like to use malt instead of sugar and have found the following site selling spray malt
http://www.hopshopuk.com/cgi-bin/browse ... &group=mex
my questions are:
1. is this the stuff I should be using to replace the sugar?
2. If so, how much per 23L brew?
3. Any other info greatly appreciated
PS just started my first coopers kit, looking forward to it!

Yes thats the stuff.
For the average kit brew, you would add either 1kg of that spray dried malt, or 1.5kg of the liquid malt extract below it on the page in place of 1kg of sugar or a 1kg sugar + corn syrup brew booster.
Where a 1.7kg kit can + 1kg of dextrose/sucrose would come out to 5.1% ABV, 1kg of dried malt comes out to 4.4% ABV (in a 23L batch, typically I make mine to 22L)
