There seems to be a huge amount of froth during the fermentation in my current brew. More than I've ever had previously.

Is this an indication of infection?

It's a cider.

Nah, some brew just krausen more than others, depends on the wort and the yeast and temperature.

Surprised, that a cider is giving big froth, but I wouldn't worry at this stage.

Cheers,
Greg

Relax have a beer this is normal for some brews it may even blow out the air lock. If it does wait for it to stop then take the air lock out and clean it refill and replace.

Yep, relaxing is exactly right. Stressing over a beer/cider etc will cause more problems than anything else.

Both times I've done a cider (Black Rock) it's had massive krausen, once foaming out the airlock when I did 23L in a 25L fermenter.

my 23L brew of cider flowed out the airlock in a 30L fermenter.
