For those that are very experience home brewers, how about hosting nights where a few inexperienced home brewers can come around and have a look at your set up, taste a couple of you beers and get some good advise.

I think that it would be appropriate for each person attending to make a donation to cover any costs etc.

What do you all reckon?

No problems! I'd do that. Here's another one, instead of a donation, why not just bring some palate cleansing nibblies?

That is a great idea, maybe a thread should be created, kinda like a sign-up for those who are interested in each State etc.. :D

For all those in Adelaide there is a HB store called Jovial Monks on Duthy St PARKSIDE that do a AG brew from Wo to Go in store that you can go, see and help out with. I went once a while back and it gave me a few good Ideas. The owner who runs it is a bit quirky, but knowledgable

Burning a case of VB isn't sacrifice, it's pest control.

anything that brings more people to try homebrewing is good. If it wasnt for a friend of mine giving me a homebrew to try I would have never started brewing my own. In fact, i didnt really even like beer!

A very good idea it is, and thanks to one person on this site I have started gathering what I need for AG brewing so in the next month should be ready for my first batch.
It would be great to return the favour and what better reason to drink beer.

Reading it is one thing - seeing it says it all.

I'll put my hand up for anyone in Perth who may be interested. My set up is nothing elaborate by a long shot, but it's one that anyone could easily understand and use, and the item costs are within reach. Bring a sample or 2 of your beer, and you can sample mine. The other option is to seek out a HBS that puts on all grain demos. In Perth, TWOC do this on a reguar basis.

Cheers, Ed

Yeah I believe that the AG brew is the first Saturday of each month, and the all extract brew is the third Saturday. I happened to turn up when they were doing the all extract and it was great to stand around and chat with all the other interested people as well as the pro doing the brew. I'd definitely like to get to an AG, but my weekends are normally pretty busy.

Also, they have this awesome little kegerator with two different brews on tap. Nice beer, that's for sure! Only problem was I had to drive home again so had to take it easy  Oh, and the other problem is I want my own kegerator now too! :?

Schooner,
The Brown ale, is almost ready, kegged and filtered, crystal clear with a huge Amarillo aroma and flavour.

See you in the next couple of weeks. I've changed my email address just send me a pm when you can come down. I'm away this weekend though.

Good Idea mate, I'm more than happy to help out with a brewday.
Does anyone else on here live on the Central Coast N.S.W.?
