I can't believe how cheap these kegs are.
If I didn't already have 9 (and I could talk the wife into letting me have more) I'd be getting another 4 sent over for the new year.

If I could afford a keg system, I'd probably grab 4 myself.

Would anyone in Melbourne be interested in getting a bulk order to save on shipping - I'd probably be interested in getting a couple.

Depends on the shipping costs... but I'd probably be interested. Maybe even two or three.

Looking over the specifics I don't think that Aussie customers can get the deal for $10 each when you buy 4. It may be more hassle then it's worth.

I'm pretty sure us Aussies can get it for 10 each, there is nothing to saay we can't.
I did the calculations, would cost $151.94 AU to have 4 delivered to my door here in Tas. Compare that to G&G.
The last 4 I got were from the same people, very good to deal with.

That works out to be $37.75 per keg. G&G sell theirs for $80 (or $74 if you get 6 or more). So it's not a bad deal, even allowing for the risk (however small) of purchasing from the Internet, and the time spent waiting for the kegs to arrive from the US.

From what I read to get the $10 each deal, you needed a paypal account, plus you had to get postage through UPS. Using the postage calculator they provided, postage to Australia is done through USPS (a different service apparerntly). That's what I'm basing my thoughts on.

I grabbed 4 off him a couple of months ago. Took about 9 weeks. Only 1 didn't hold pressure. He keeps getting cheaper.

Sure, the last 4 I got came with all new seals and O-rings.
I have found that the most common cause for gas leaks (for me) is the main lid seal.
Other than that there is very little that can go wrong with them.

The poppet valve is the other main cause of leaks. They are easy to replaced and are only $3-$4 from most HBS.

I'm pretty new to HB, got 2 fermenters and loving it as a hobby. Made a bloody nice ale as my first brew. Very much into it. Got some money to spare. Do you guys reckon I should invest in a couple of kegs? Certainly seems like a good deal.

As long as you can also afford a regulator, lines, connectors, a gun for dispensing and rental on a gas bottle as the kegs are not much good without the rest of the gear. You also need a fridge to put them in. Saying that though kegs are the way to go but I would get more than 2 if you can afford it I would get 4 as a minium.

Thanks for the info Shaun. The problem is that i've only just started HBing and I've only got 2 23ltr Coopers fermerters. I love home brewing and after my first brew I way quite firm in the belief that HB is muvh better than commecial beer.
What do you reckon it would cost to get a couple of kegs going? And would I need to keep them refrigerated? I'm happy enough carbonating through bottling (Coopers Carb Drops make ot very easy) But a keg would be great for special occasionans etc.

Mewshew,
Shame you don't live down the street,
I have a few spare bits like a CO2 cylinder, reg that I could lend ya.
In Canadian Dollars,
Fridge, I have those Danby fridges, they hold two kegs and you can get them new around 200 dollars
tap, 35 dollars
two kegs, just bought two the other day, 29 dollars each
pepsi ball fittings, 11 dollars each
tubing and fittings , peanuts
CO2 cylinder and reg, 90 bucks
so 400 bucks all in plus some mod time.
I got a steal on my second fridge, all in 200 dollars
