How quick can I stop the second fermenting?

OK, I have a son due any day now and I'm kinda in a hurry to force carbonate the brew I've got fermenting.
I brewed a Irish Pale Ale Sunday, Oct 2 and left it for primary fermentation. It fermented at about 78 degrees. Saturday, Oct 8 I moved it to the secondary fermentation.
My question is: How soon can I keg & force carbonate this with it still tasting good? This is my first batch so I'm not sure how long I must wait for secondary fermentation, but I want a drink to celebrate when we bring our son home from the hospital.
Thanks.
