Hello there , after many hours spent reading the threads here I thought I'd join up and say hello .
Some very interesting topics here and alot of information too .
I live in Auckland NZ and have been brewing for about 10 months now .
I just brew normal kit beers (Brewtech , Armstrongs ect ) and use dextrose as the only other ingrediant .
However with 17 brews under my belt I feel it's time to start experimenting .
Some of the ideas and recipies here have made me make up my mind to take my brewing to the next level .
I look forward to reading more tales and ideas and perhaps sharing some of my own too .

Skoti .

:D Thankyou for your welcome .
Here's a pic of 3 of my babys .

There's 2 Armstrong dark ales and a Brewtech premium draught in those .
I'll be putting another dark ale down today (I love dark ales) and will be adding honey to the mix as an experiment .

G'day Skoti,

Like Oliver said, welcome. You won't look back now.

I havn't heard of Armstrong's Kits before, how do you rate them as opposed to Coopers, Morgans etc. Are they available in Oz ?

Cool sig by the way,

cheers

G'day tommo , thanks for your welcome .
I can't compare either of those brands as I've never used them before .
The Armstrong brand is from the south island of NZ and it's sometimes pretty hard to get hold of .
At some stage I'll be making a stout and from people I know who brew , Coopers seems to be the best so I'll be going with that .

Hi Lebowski , yes Speights old dark is available in the north island .
I haven't personally tried it though .
Also did you mean the commercial beer or the homebrew kits ?
Having said that I'm not sure if Speights make homebrew kits but I will inquire at the HBS on monday .

Hello Skoti, I read a article recently that stated that in 1910 when
Australia became Federated, NZ was invited by the Aus goverment
to become part of the Aus federation. but the Kiwis declined and would
rather go it alone ? Just think Skoti, you could now be drinking VB &
Swan lager and calling it your own brewery ? . Oh what wise buggers
your goverment where to have saved you from such a fate !!!
So when you tap one of those Babys of yours, have a drink to them .
