Weevil Beer

Never, seen this question posted. After a break in AG brewing and this site (new job) some of my grain supply has small minature weevils or the likes in it despite being stored in snap bags and then air tight containers. My basic understanding is that the little bastards will eat, sleep and piss in my grain and that it needs to be thrown as the resulting beer will otherwise taste like piss and crap? Anyone wanna tell me that it's fine, relax and have another homebrew, use it there wil be no issues.

Drunk weevils in your in your beer won't hurt, they put worms in tequila!

I'd turf it. I have had enough of bugs this year (don't get me started on the rain). Sorry for your loss

I'd give em a go, but then I'll try anything once.
I'm sure they wont hurt you in any way.

during the course of last weekend i was given 5 25 Kg bags of malt that had a bad weavel thing happening
this is what i did to clear them
layed down some large tarps spread out the grain watch the bugs run
use a shovel pick up a spade full of grain toss it up into the breeze and let the heavy stuff fall and the bug eaten light stuff blow in the wind
repeat as long as you can handel it then sweep all grain up and put into an airtight container
get your Co2 bottle make up a spear push it to the bottom of the container then purge in gas until container is full of Co2
fit lid to the container and leave to stand for a week
i bet those little critters wont be moving after no oxygen to breath
cheers
ps i hate to waste grain i recovered approx 100Kgs

I thought sunlight brought the weevils out and made them piss off? At least thats what I've heard to do with bags of flour..
Would sunlight have any adverse effects on the grain if only for a short period of time?

Nice, a bit of Jack Aubrey humour to the fore
