hi kev, yes i have heard a computer fan will do the job, but i have concerns with the fan shorting out with all the moisture in the freezer. as the freezer is deep enough. i do not have to raise the lid which means the fan is in the freezer and not fixed to the boards people use when raising the lid. any ideas. cheers wayne

Wayne,
looks like you've invested some pretty pennys into that setup of yours not to mention an arm and a leg or two.
I'm guessing the gun is for secruity purposes....

Wayne: A couple of computer case 8cm or larger fans would take care of the hot/cold spots in your freezer no worries about electrical problems with them. As they only draw around 80 milliamps at 12 volts you could use a cheap switchmode plug pack capable of producing around 200-300 M/amps DC at 12 volts. These can be bought online from Farnell or WES electronic components.
Try staticICE for fans which are around 5-7 bucks. They come with sleeve or ball bearing at 30,000 hrs typical I wouldn't worry
Cheers

I used an old mobile phone charger which was 500mA @ 9V or so from memory. I hot glue gunned the fans into the corners and used 4 fans all blowing air down from about 4 inches from the top of the lid. I connected them with speaker wire. A bit of solder and an hours work all up, very easy and quite effective!

James L,
the only thing i had to pay in full was the freezer. i am luckly enough to have some very good friends, we all work in different industries and we help one and other ( using the gumnut system ) so i paid the very minimum for what you saw. cheers wayne.

Your group wouldn't need a new friend would it?
