Glad it was OK Cods. I bottled mine this morning so will give a report back in a fortnight or so.
Tasted a little today and whilst it was obviously flat as a tack, it tasted pretty good to me.
Here's hoping.

Yeah it was good to chat to a few blokes, but a lot of it went straight over my head to be honest.

Yeah i was there then but i only ran in for a couple of "POTS" I was the scruffy looking bum with the JD cap on but like i said i wasnt there long just dropped in to make an appearence, im pretty good mates with Anthony and Dwain so its never too much trouble, ill probably catch you there next time, i think its going to be early july.

You're right about the guys at the shop, very helpful, particularly as I'm a newbie, but I did spend near on $300 in a week
setting up so that woulda helped of course.

Gotta pick another easy brew as my 2nd go. Nothing too techo, gotta crawl before you can walk, before you can drink, before you fallover!!!
Any suggestions? One of the kit boxed packs perhaps???

Depends what you want but i would personally pick my own ingredients rather than something that was packed by brewcraft, what do you want to brew i.e lager, ale, stout etc

I spose it depends on my brew conditions a bit yeah? I brew in an old dead fridge which I can maintain at 18-22
during the real hot days. Not sure what I can get it down to during the colder days, that could determine yeast types yeah?

The mrs really wants me to do a corona but I want to get some more beers stocked up. Maybe something like a Crownie,
or a golden ale, really like the James Squire Golden Ale.... would that be tough to replicate???

Whatever it is, I'd like another simple brew before getting anymore adventurous!!!

OK, newbie Q time- Amarillo @ 15mins, then again @ 5 mins - this means what exactly?
And dry hopped in secondary - please explain..........

Thanks for the link. Maybe a bit over my head at the moment but keen to learn.

Fill stockpot with 4L of boiling water. Dissolve the 1.5 kilo tin of malt extract in it. Once you have a good rolling boil add 15g of Amarillo, 10 minutes later add another 15g. Boil a further 5 minutes then remove from the heat, dissolve the Sparkling kit and cool the stockpot in an ice bath. Once cooled put the contents of the stockpot into your sanitised fermentor, top up with water to 23L. Pitch the yeast and ferment for 4-5 days. Put the remaining 15g of Amarillo into the fermentor and reseal. Wait 3 days then bottle.

Cheers, doesn't sound too hard I spose. But might leave it for my 4th or 5th brew but I think.

If you just want some really basic, get you started brews then go into the one stop and have a look up on the wall above the malts and stuff, basically straight in front of you when you walk in the door where all the beer gear is, there is plenty of recipes up on the wall that are basic kit recipes with certain little additions that my 6 year old could probably brew and they are quite good, there would be basically all the recipes that you have just mentioned up there and another source for really easy clones is the brewing crafts book and all the ingredients for these you will find at the one stop
