getting back on to the subject, I have seen those plastic lids that you can get to put on unfinished dog food cans before putting them back in the fridge. I reckon they'd be a goer for home brew tins as they are about the same size...

I must admit that i've never had any left over liquid malt before, I try to use the whole can(s) in the brew. If there is additional malt to be added to increase the alcohol concentration, then i usually go the dry malt extract.

The problem i have is trying to get the dry malt packet to become airtight without blowing a heap of malt out the openeing. or sucking it into the hand held vacuum sealer that i have. thats a bastard

This is part of the reason I switched to AG, the absolute cheapest I could buy any extract was to buy prehopped generic or Tooheys kits for $9 each, and there are only so many beers you can make from them, before you decide you need to widen your horizons.

Honestly if I could source dry extract for $6 per kilo I would give up on AG

do you have an exact address for that HBS in brissy? I go to one at kenmore which is nice and close but doesnt have much of a range and definately doesnt have DM for $6 a kilo!

The HBS at Annerley Brisbane told me they would do 20kg of LDME @ $6.50 a kilo. Does anyone know anywhere cheaper than that in brisbane?

As a side note ryan. I put one of those Amarillo wetpacks from Hervey Bay down on the weekend. It had a very apparent grassy smell which scares me a bit. But I am hoping it will be nice (better be for $43)!

yeah, he won`t be getting $9 kg. off me. There`s other ways to skin a cat
A couple of other blokes have mentioned the grassy finish with that Amirillo pack. At $43 you wouldn`t want too many dissapointments
