doesn't it get to the point where it's like throwing a sausage down a hallway?

chris
Agreed and as far as the smaller hole thing goes, well if your aim is that bad then maybe more alcohol isnt the answer

Like i said before i dont see the big deal, i love the coopers screw tops and have never had an issue with them, in fact the only fermenter i have ever owned that ( after a few years) didnt hold a seal was a pail.....

Funny that

I reckon my new Bunnings fermenter might hold a baby harp seal if I got it early enough... :P

I have 3 of the 30L fermenters, 1 is a coopers and the other 2 dont have brandings. Never had a problem with sealing but i do put a lot of effort in making sure they are very tight. Means i do need to replace the seals every now and then but not too keen to add anything (food grade or not) to the barrels at the start of fermentation. I have one of the pail things i scored in an ebay auction for tallies but i use that to hold the hydrometer, bottle brushes etc :D

just makes you want to go clubbing, doesn't it

jk!

back on topic, are the seals a standard size? when the time comes to replace mine, do i ask for, for example, a 200mm o-ring, or do i ask for a seal for a cooper's fermenter?
