i'll have to let you know about the clogging issue after it's maiden voyage.
yardy
did my 2nd Partial today, the tun worked fine, i mashed at 67*C for 60min and it only lost 1*C over that time.
5lt Mash and 5lt Batch Sparge returned 7.5lt of Wort. I think this is good
The Monster Mill,
jeezuz Ed, do ya think it's big enough...
you could crush a car with that.
only joking,
as long as you can reduce the gap in the rollers down to the right tolerance and get a tray or bucket under them to catch the grain it will be the duck's guts.
i could have done with the Monster Mill today, me and my 9 yr old crushed over 2kg by hand.
i have to get one.....
cheers for the pic
yard
btw, have a look at the Tun in action at the address below.

Yeah, I'd just had a look at your webpage, nice work. Is that a hydrometer or were you just happy to see her

Gotta get me one of those turns and make it just like yours, now that you've done the first trial and proved it worked so well. 2kg's by hand? You'll have to be nice to the mrs and see if you can swing a mill
Glad to hear it all went so well and only lost minimal temp, better than the dummy run so I know you'll be pleased.
Cheers, Ed

Hi Yardy,
Sorry to bring up old post, but wondering where you got the tap from?

I am building a similar setup and can't seem to find a tap like that or similar very easily. Any suggestions on where to acquire one?
Thanks

You can get them from any Kmart, in the garden section. They are used for sprinkler systems.

Thanks guys. Will give K-mart a go and if no luck have a look at wine section in HB store.
Just one question - you don't think there'd be any issues with mash temp wort leaching any chems from the tap/valve?
