Simo,

Have had a few this evening, so hopefully this makes sense...

It's been said on the forum before - ditch the "lollies" (a.k.a Carbonation drops). They just cause too much anguish. Going through the bother of smashing them into smaller pieces is just not worth the effort. Do yourself a favour and spend the $3 on a priming scoop.

And of the topic on priming 650ml vs. 750ml bottles? Several experienced brewers have told me that the difference is negligible. In my own, limited experience (I use 650ml bottles), I too have found this to be the case. I always prime as if I'm bottling in 750ml bottles, and have yet to have a bottle explode because of over-priming.

All this typing calls for another beer. Barkeep, another 650ml bottle, if you please!

Maybe consider going all out- $25 for an extra fermenter & $2 for a piece of hose will let you rack and bulk prime.
