It was more "faaaaaaaaaark, faaaaaaaaark". (I researched it for my Crow Call Chimay Clone, bottled just after he died.)silkworm wrote:Fuuuuuucccckkkk d

DD,
not sure what a "hoser" is, so I admit nothing.
Queenslanders tend to add "eh" to the end of many sentences. North Queenslanders tend to add "eh but". The longer you have been in these places, and the older you are, the greater likelihood of these statements being true. Of course, the purity of our speech is being continually eroded by the increasing presence of those who dont really like where they come from, and hence spend a lot of time in our backyard, but whose underlying sense of inferiority unfortunately leads them towards knocking aspects of our great state, and sometimes even our former guiding light, Premier, and radio-show Bible Basher, the late, great and unfortunately recently departed (and now advising God "dont you worry about that!) Joh Bjelke-Petersen!

Watching Fargo it's more of a "eeeeeeeeeh". And what are all the "aboots" about?Dogger Dan wrote:Most of us Hosers (Canadians) are lovingly identified because we use eh a fair bit to.
Actually, to my vulgar ear I've accused a few Canuks of being Americans. I guess it's the same as asking me if I'm a Kiwi. Not to mention we get confused with Austrians every now and again.

No, its a short eh, not a long one. I have no idea about the aboot, most Americans seem to think we say that but I am yet to here a Canadian say that.
