Hirns,
It has cold water getting pumped through it from the beer fridge sitting next to it.
That is the cooling cycle conected to the tempmate, since that pic was taken I've added a cowling & 12V fan to it for better efficiency.
The heating cycle is a light, painted black, in the bottom of the box/old freezer.
This way I don't need another fridge.
& it will hold two fermenters with a few bottles or one fermenter & a full batch of bottles so they condition at the same temp as fermentation.
Mick.

Put clingwrap on latest brew last night (early this morning) and yeast was firing by the time I woke up. Looks good, better than watching T.V.
Cheers

Thanks for the concern Grog, but I don't have a problem. The first step is admitting you have a problem, and I admit nothing :D

I don't miss the bloop of the airlock, none of my 3 fermenter lids ever sealed properly. In 45 brews I've only ever heard a couple of burps from the airlock. Mum and Dads house is another matter, Dad keeps 2 fermenters (with airlocks) in the living room permanently (much to Mums disgust).
I keep getting told im an alco, my response is usually no im not, alco's go to meetings  !!

Cheers for that, I mistook it for a plate chiller before going to the font on the freezer. Good use of a dead freezer :D .

Cheers

Earle,
been meaning to get back to you on this,

26 letters in the Alphabet, 52 weeks in a year.
1 brew per fortnight = A-Z each year.

Co-incidense???........You be the judge! :D :D :D :D :D

Sounds like a perfect system for you. :D I usually use two letters standing for the style or name of the beer, easier for me to remember when I'm choosing from a selection.
