howdy ... just wondering if anyone has used these and could recommend them or otherwise.
my LHBS has 'em for $39 - a fair investment for a poor boy like me, so I'd wanna know if they wuz quality. sorry, I don't have a brand name, but they have a framboise there, but they'd need to order in the special lambic yeast for $15 or so, yada yada but that's another story ...
thanks in advance ....

One thing I would suggest, if you do add tap water to it, please boil and cool the water before you do so. The quality is certainly better than can kits, but IMHO not worth the price they charge.
If you think you may some day go AG, keep doing K&K, save the extra money and when you have enough, buy a mash tun and a big kettle.

+1
If you go AG, a brew of the same amount will cost about $30($15 a carton).. They are convenient though, I got one from my LHBS last year and Pack of us-05 came with it for $39, still only >$20 a carton..
Cheers

Re: fresh wort kits ... any good?
I think fresh wort kits are good if money isn't a problem and you don't mind drinking beer that somebody else has made. I'm a beer tragic - I have as much fun making a batch as I do consuming one! Because I like to tinker with recipes, I much prefer the total control that AG brewing affords at a very low per unit cost.
