I use them as nutrient in my yeast starters. Boil a packet of yeast with the wort you prepared for the yeast starter to be sure they have all the nutrient they need.

Good point KEG. If you are not using a starter with sufficient healthy yeast to ferment the batch it is an advantage to have the nutrient in the wort itself since this is where the yeast will be doing its nutrient uptake and primary growth.
