I used a beermakers lager kit to make Boonie's LCPA recipe, and it worked beautifully.
That is, of course, if you want to make an ale. And use a whole bunch of hops :)

I've just flipped through Mike Rogers-Wilson's book "Brewing Crafts", and he gives the combination of Beermakers' Lager and #40 as being a recipe somewhat similar to Hahn Premium. He also suggests that you use a Saflager yeast and ferment below 20 degrees. I'd say that's pretty sound advice. I also tend to add extra hops to the converters when I use them, however in this case I'm not familiar with the particular kit combination that you're using so I'd just stick with the recipe as it stands.

throw out the yeast, purchase proper lager yeast and ferment below 12

9 is better, ferment for a month, rack to secondry and lager for a month at 0 or close

Drink and enjoy, and reflect how short life is brewing lagers.

Or brew ales and have a 10 day turn around time

Use the enzyme if you want to continue your fermentation down to the level of almost water, and if you like your brews with a minimum of flavour.
Bin it.

...which explains why many of us are madly brewing lagers right now and planning our ales for spring/summer...

This time of year is just perfect. I've got a constant 18°C inside my lounge, perfect for my ales, and a brew fridge outside that doesn't have to do any work to keep the lagers at 12°C. What more could a brewer want? :)
