Ginger beer not carbonated?

Post by Lebowski »

Have left a ginger beer under the sink for 2 weeks and its very flat. Just wondering if theres some reason for this (all my beers have carbonated fine) Someone suggested taking off the cap of one adding more priming sugar and seeing if it helps (while keeping it in an explosion tolerant place :P)

What temperature has it been around your parts. Are you sure it's been warm enough?

Mmmmm. Dunno. You weren't drunk and forgot to prime were you? :D

They're the same bottles as normal?

How long was it in the fermenter for?

It's pretty weird.

Yeah I remember priming.. same bottles as usual, was in fermenter for about a week I think. I dont think I did anything different really apart from using ginger beer instead of beer.

could it be the yeast? did the kit come with a yeast nutrient?.. i don't know if i'd re-prime all the bottles.. maybe you could try just re-priming one & see how it goes after a week? do you bulk prime lebowski?

Possibly the yeast.. but it fermented fine in the fermenter.. I used carbonation drops.

Hearing a lot of issues regarding those drops.

As an aside, I bottled a beer down and it took two weeks to get the PET bottle hard. I am sure if I cracked it now after three weeks I would be dissappointed.

Patience I am told is a virtue.

My last GB took ages to begin fermentation and ages to carbonate. I think it's got something to do with less malt than and actual beer.
