A former Brewster returns to her craft ! an Intro

Hello brewing guys and gals ! I have just returned to this joyous activity after a 6 yr break, what were my disasters and triumphs ? why would I bother to come back after all this time ??? I have recently moved way down South well Tassie actually and being a Lager lovin' Gal I reckon I have found heaven ........ made me go out to the shed ...dust down the ever faithful fermenters that had served me well in the past, and clean them down, ready to take their respectable time honoured postion in the kitchen where I have always brewed my beer and baked my bread. I was horrified to find out what has been goin on in the Hb world in my absence

and realise I need to reclaim my HB status as a proud brewster (female brewer) and join my brothers and sisters on our journey towards being self reliant wonderful beer creators ! I look forward to reading your posts........ I have already had a sneak preview and smile with you in your efforts.

Hi Mr Dave and thanks for your welcome ! My biggest disappointment was finding out Gold Rush is no more, I really enjoyed early experiments with Gold Rush and was saddened to find they are no more.......in my opinion they were well priced and very 'doable' for beginners to intermediate brewers, I had only great successes with all their products, including St Arnou.....

Ah, that's a shame. It seems that's only happened recently.
With a bit of googling there's a few places in .au to be found that still advertise Gold Rush stuff. Snap 'em up while you can

I'm not sure if we're thinking of the same thing as I've never tried them but my local hbs sells Goldrush kits.

Many thanks to everyone for the welcome, and Beau thanx for Ballarat HB shop, looks like they are very well set up lucky you ! Yep Damon I think in Tas we really must brew or go broke

besides the climate is just so right for the lagers huh ? How do you get on with rain water ? Dan dont mind me with ya language

I have heard most of it once or twice

and usually have a chuckle to myself ... as a famous author once wrote 'Dont worry have a Homebrew instead' I shall be taking your advice and chasing up some stockists for my beloved Gold Rush.

Deb, Head to the HBS in Elizabeth St, went there today to stock up my goodies...spend over $100 there today

, they had few Gold Rush tins in stock

As for water, been using fresh pure Cradle Mountain water... so smooth
