LHBS still selling 1056

Post by rotten »

Now I know my local HBS should not be selling this thanks to this forum, But I had to buy a little bottler (little champions these are) last weekend from my LHBS. Not the reason for this post, they had US-1056 from use before date 2007. I'm sure this would be from when they started in business. My only tipped brew came from a brew tin from these people at least 18 months ago, if not more. I now use online sellers and are AG, but please do your homework especially in the country areas. Whilst LHBS are good, they still need to provide good product. Look at my region to know more, think sims parade. Barmera better, not so bad.
Cheers

Hi Rotten,

Salient advice.

A bit OT, but ...

I remember a homebrew store in Geelong that I used to go to many moons ago that sold PoR hop cones. Nothing wrong with that, except that they were kept in loosely-filled bags (probably not even airtight), just sitting on the shelft not refrigerated and in a position that would get heaps of sunlight.

Needless to say they were brown and revolting looking. I hate to think what the beer was like brewed from them.

(This was the same homebrew shop that used to give the advice to put your bottles somewhere in direct sunlight, in order to "gas them up" )

Cheers,

Oliver
