Where do you guys pick up your honey for home brewing?

I've been searching supermarkets and health food stores to find different types of honey, but so far I've drawn a bit of a blank - the only variety I can find besides the normal supermarket stuff is leatherwood honey.

So where do you guys find clover and other more speciality type honey? Especially in Melbourne?

Leatherwood Honey goes well in a dark ale.
The Woolies up here has a couple of different honeys to choose from. They have some in the health food section and some in the sandwiches section (between the peanut butter and Vegemite).

Cheers,
Greg

I get my honey from the fruit and veg shop. A 1.5kg tub of honey (several varieties) for $10. Its good stuff too, not the stuff I would just have on toast.

Cheers, I'll have a poke around in the general area. A few fruit and veg shops in Balwyn (suburb near me) seem to look promising, so I'll give them a visit.

Yes I'm talking about the Queen Victoria Market in the city. Swanstan St?? I always thought it was on Elizabeth, but I'm never sure.

Vic market?? Isn't that just another name for the QV market??

Yep, I was getting confused with the QV shopping centre which is on Swanston street and the Queen Vic Market which is corner Elizabeth and Victoria - silly me!

I buy mine from the Foster Market (down near Wilson's Prom). I spend a bit of time down that way, but I pay $5 for 500g jar. Good honey though.
They aslo have half a dozen varieties, so my experiment outside the Yellow Box square one day. :P
